The Test Automation Consultant role is a new and exciting role at Systemware Professional Services, Inc. Be a part of implementing testing frameworks in a variety of practical ways to increase the practicality and value of automated software testing tools across Systemware's client base. The Test Automation Consultant role is a key leader in applying industry-leading processes, tools, and techniques across a variety of client environments. Responsibilities include; the development, implementation, and adaptation of test framework tools integrated with commercially available test execution tools. Establish and apply test framework architectures in a practical and value-added fashion utilizing the latest approaches to 'jump start' our clients' test automation investments. This includes the development and implementation of single script framework approaches, development and implementation of API-based framework approaches, development and implementation of a .NET-based test collaboration and test repository tool, and sales support for demonstrating the framework approach.

The Test Automation Expert role at Systemware Professional Services, Inc. is considered to be an expert in the field of automated software testing. The term 'automation' spans all types of testing tools including test execution, unit test debugging, testware management, defect management, and code path analysis tools. The Test Automation Expert has experience across several different types of tools in a practical fashion, which includes the following list of experiences:

Test Execution Tools - has experienced the downfall of record/playback and scripting. Has previously developed framework/keyword driven tools on a formal or informal basis.

Unit Test Debugging Tools - has experienced such applications as JUNIT (by Parasoft) as a way to perform unit testing against JAVA-based applications.

Testware Management Tools - has experienced the practical set-up, implementation, and management of a testware management tool (such as TestDirector). Can recommend practical ways to set-up TestDirector test cases for re-use, reporting, and management.

Defect Management - has experienced the process and tool implementation of a practical and effective defect management tool (such as TestDirector, Remedy, etc.). Can recommend practical ways to implement the defect management process so that there a limited delays in defect response. Can also recommend and implement Test Summary Reports from those tools.

Code Path Analysis Tools - has experienced the practical use of code path analysis tools and/or code investigation tools (such as CAST software).

Candidates must have experience with the following:

. Has implemented multiple test execution tools - in order of importance; Mercury Winrunner, Mercury Quick Test Professional 8.0, Rational Robot, Segue Silktest, Compuware QARun. All others are of the same weight after the list above.

. Has implemented a key-word driven, framework-driven, action-based framework tool.

. Understands how to evaluate tools in a comparison basis and can provide recommendations on the best fit for the environment.

. Understands tool behavior differences between an analog mode and a digital mode and can program/explain the implications of these differences.

. Has developed code in VBA (Visual Basic) or like scripting language (Mercury - TSL).

. Understands testing best practices - knows solid industry references for processes and tools.

Experience/Skills
Has implemented multiple test execution tools Mercury Winrunner, Mercury Quick Test Professional 8.0, Rational Robot, Segue Silktest, Compuware QARun. Has implemented a key-word driven, framework-driven, action-based framework tool. Has previously developed framework/keyword driven tools on a formal or informal basis. Has experienced the practical use of code path analysis tools and/or code investigation tools. Is able to build business cases and measurements of the testing automation processes. See above.
