Kaiser Permanente, parterning with Genesis10 Consulting, is seeking 5 experienced Software Testers for a 6+ month contract in Oakland, CA.

As paper-based medical record systems pass into history, our national KP HealthConnect project steps solidly to the forefront. When fully deployed, this secure, pre-eminent system will provide an organized database of clinical information on each of our millions of members across the country. Electronically linking patient information, basic computerized patient records, decision support, clinical practice guidelines and workflow management, approximately 50,000 users will have immediate access to this data. It’s a capability that promises to radically redefine the way care is delivered.

Overall scope/purpose of the project/position:
This role will be responsible the development and execution of functional and workflow integrated test cases. This will include requirements review (business and technical), test case development including integration of test cases into a test suite, execute manual test scripts using a test case development tool (TestDirector), analyze test data and transactions to identify patterns or errors, replicate and accurately document defects identified during testing activities and track the defects until they are closed. Some travel to other regions may be required. Travel expenses will be covered by client.

Experience/Skills
Skills required:
Candidates must have 7-9 years of structured testing experience including execution of test cases (utilizing TestDirector) in a Windows NT, UNIX, client-server and/or mainframe environment using structured testing methodologies.
This position requires analytical ability, effective communication, independent and team participation to produce quality results reliably and on time, ability to identify and communicate issues to the team or project during the course of performing their work.
Testing of package implementations, ability to quickly learn new tools, testing techniques and application details and a strong software and healthcare background is desirable.
