Hosting & Messaging Solution Architects for two open positions for Global Services company.

Focus of position is:
Server Mgmt- Mgd Hosting
Messaging- Exchange, Notes
Security- MSSP



Solution Architect will Contribute to the pre-sales of IT services contracts by designing sellable and profitable IT Services solutions and by promoting such solutions to the customers until the signature of the contract.

Technical Support for Hosting & Messaging opptys, Primary solution design for Hosting and Mgd Messaging opptys, work with Global
engineering & Operations to properly Impement solution, Support RFP/RFI
requests; work cooperatively with BDM, Principles and PS to pursue and sell new Managed Hosting and Messaging deals

Understand customer requirements. This task includes meeting customers and understanding the overall IT infrastructure environment (workstations, networks, application infrastructure, security) as well as the business drivers for change.

Design IT services solution. Such design will aim at re-using existing solution components, but can include the design of new components. The main focus of the design is Security, Messaging and Business Application Infrastructure. However, the impact on workstations and network needs to be factored in, as well as on the support organization and customer budgets. Various design scenarios can be developed, and discussed with the customer, the account team and the operational teams. Promote the design. This includes writing proposals, developing arguments and rationale for the design, and contributing to the definition of unique selling points with the commercial team. Customer facing meetings are also part of this task.

Close the deals. This includes contributing to the final contractual negotiation, in particular as far as Service Level Agreements and Finances are concerned. Share knowledge and experience. Through the development of solution bricks, white papers, templates, training material, etc ensure that other staff can re-use developed know-how.

- Strong technical acumen
- Engineering experience in several of the following areas:
- Operating Systems: Win2000+, NT 4.0, Sun Solaris, UNIX
- Data Bases: Microsoft SQL, Oracle
- Security: Cisco Pix, Nokia Checkpoint, Juniper Netscreen
- Storage & Archiving: SAN, NAS, (i.e. EMC, Opentext)
- Load Balancing: Alteon
- Content Distribution & Caching: Cisco
- Lotus Notes R45 + Administration
- Microsoft Exchange 5.5+ Administration
- Extensive Customer facing experience as sales engineering role for:
- Pre-sales, Design and implementation experience with Fortune 500 Customers (preferably Global Clients)
- Oversee/Support the implementation of solutions into hosting centers & Customer premise as required
- Extensive knowledge of Global Data and IP infrastructure:
- MPLS, Frame Relay, ATM, Dedicated IP, VPN, Private Line, Internet
- Certifications: Cisco, EMC, Sun etc
- Comprehensive knowledge of the OSI Model
- Knowledge in developing outsourced IT Solutions
- Experience in the network design process. This would include the initial information gathering from the customer through the delivery of design internally with engineering and externally to the customer.
