Solutions Architect

No third parties please, must live in the DFW area.

Solution Architect is a hands-on role that is focused on delivering sound technical approaches and solutions that adhere to the Company's enterprise architecture standards, while meeting Business Requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
Design and apply enterprise system and application solutions to meet business objectives
Produce high level designs and conceptual designs for project delivery
Collaborate with other application Teams surrounding integration points and integration approaches
Design strategies and approaches for non-functional requirements, such as performance, failover, load-balancing, etc.
Collaborate with other architects and technical leaders across the
organization to develop and leverage best practices
Provide hands-on guidance to development Teams implementing the solutions
Provide and/or validate high-level estimates as a part of scoping activities

Education:
B.S./M.S. in computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

Experience & Required Skills:
Working with business and IT staff to define high-level solution architectures and architecture best practices.
Designing and implementing multi-tiered enterprise applications
Strong problem-solving skills across both functional and technical domains.
Solid understanding of OOAD and domain modelling.
Hands on development experience in Java-based technologies
OWASP Top Ten and other Information Security practices
Authentication, Authorization, Single Sign On, Message Level Security
Designing and testing approaches for performance, failover, load-balancing
Application performance tuning, environment performance tuning, and browser-side performance tuning
Working in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment
Firm understanding of Software Architecture, Design Patterns, and Integration Architecture
Working with Internet technologies
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong collaboration skills-ability to provide technical leadership and resolve conflicts of opinion across diverse Teams
Must demonstrate initiative and be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Hands-on experience with Apache, Tomcat, Spring, Hibernate
Browser technology expertise (JavaScript, AJAX, etc)
