Description
The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Senior Space Designer for our corporate office in Worcester, MA.

Position Overview
The Senior Designer provides a range of services including strategic occupancy planning, systems furniture design, maintenance and refresh of furniture and related standards, and other workspace design efforts for our home office property. In addition, responsible for managing vendor relationships, supporting other designer efforts and overseeing design projects as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • System furniture design and drawing maintenance via CAD tool
  • Develop, recommend and maintain space, furniture, fixture and architectural standards
  • Strategic occupancy planning by working directly with business areas for project and budget planning
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships for areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate design effort from conception to implementation for assigned moves and projects
  • Provide quality control, standards adherence and post design review (build versus design) of department designs
  • Ability to manage renovation projects as assigned.

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • NCIDQ certification or equivalent preferred
  • 3 – 5 years experience in design
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Design industry knowledge (ADA, ergonomics, architectural drawing, furniture systems and installations)
  • Project management capabilities
