Description
Dimension & Scope:
Responsible for the designproject managementfeasibility studiestime and cost estimation for the Convergys Corporate Data Network. This person serves as the primary resource for the business requirements and networking standards and ensures that the business requirements satisfy both client and company needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide high-level design solutions that conform to the overall system requirements.Serve as a resource to project team members.Ensure completion of project within established time frames.May serve as a project manager for a group of Data Technicians with responsibility for overall development of an entire project's plans and supporting all existing processes within the area of assigned responsibility.Assist in planning projects, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.Ensure the project team performs applicable tests prior to moving into production.Ensure that all departments have provided input into the project.Provide project status reports to upper management.Serve as the first level for client interface.Responsible for the design of new networking.Provide solutions to resolve client problems.Responsible for technical specification approval.Serve as the liaison to upper management.
Education & Professional Certifications:
Movement into TCPBachelor's Degree in related technical disciplineAndFour years relevant experience Or Master's Degree in related technical discipline AndMinimum two years relevant experienceOr Minimum eight years relevant experience without college degree.Movement within TCPMinimum two years experience in B2 Level TCP position.Note: Cisco certification required at this level
Candidate Profile:
Five years hands-on experience supporting a complex data network environment supporting 24x7 mission critical applications and services
Expert knowledge of Cisco and/or Nortel network product (6500, 7200, 3550, PIX/ASA, Content Switches, Nortel 8600)
Experience configuring and troubleshooting internal and external routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP
Experience with deploying MPLS based WANs
Experience configuring high-availability networks
Experience using network monitoring and management tools for troubleshooting and capacity management
Cisco and/or Nortel certifications preferred
Experience with other technology areas such as server architecture, network security or PBXs
High level of technical aptitude
Possess solid decision making skills in problem identification, solution recommendation and implementation
Ability to organize and prioritize in a fast paced, deadline oriented, rapidly changing environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail and customer service oriented
Excellent planning, organizational and time management skillsdf-tc
