DESCRIPTION: This consultant will perform duties associated with daily monitoring and maintenance of the OAGâ??s Unix/Linux environment, which includes SuSE Linux, Solaris and Mac OS/X. Additionally, the consultant will be required to work on capacity management on
Sun servers, SuSE Linux
, Solaris 10 containers, and VMWare on SuSE Linux. The consultant will assist as needed on writing and troubleshooting scripts as needed. The consultant will also make recommendations, help implement upgrades and enhancements and work closely with the Web team and the Database group to resolve application bottlenecks as needed.

Experience/Skills
We are looking for an individual for the following 1+ year project in Troy, NY (near Albany). Individual must have the following experience in order to qualify:

MANDATORY Requirements: NOTE: CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT MEET MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.

1. Five years experience designing, configuring, implementing, monitoring, maintaining and documenting high availability network solutions utilizing Solaris. Fluency with the latest versions (Solaris 10)

2. Three years experience designing, configuring, implementing, monitoring, maintaining and documenting high availability network solutions utilizing SuSE Linux and Mac OS/X. Fluency with the latest versions (SuSE 9.x, Mac OS/X Tiger Server).

3. Three years experience designing, configuring, implementing, monitoring, maintaining and documenting high availability SANs on Solaris, SuSE Linux, Mac OS/X and Novell Netware.

4. Five years experience writing, testing, debugging and documenting scripts written in ksh, sh, bash and/or csh.

5. Five years experience installing, modifying, testing, debugging and documenting open-source software in popular languages such as C, C++, Perl, Java, Tcl/Tk, expect.

DESIRABLE Experience:

1. SANS certification, CERT certification, or equivalent security certification.

2. Solaris, SuSE, Mac OS/X certifications.

3. SAN virtualization technology (IBM/Sun).

4. Jumpstart, autoYaST and/or OSX automated install experience.

5. Veritas products including Veritas Volume manager, Veritas filesystem, Veritas Netbackup.

6. DNS, CUPS, Sendmail, LDAP, SAMBA, Apache, Websphere, LAMP.
