Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Specialist IS Business Analyst's primary responsibility involves partnering with major segments of the organization to interpret business strategies and objectives to support implementation of appropriate information systems applications related to Business.
Lead cross functional projects to develop/deliver future B2B technologies (LDAP, Plumtree/Sharepoint, Biztalk, Juniper etc.). This will start with understanding the customer then leading a shared services team to deliver. Similar projects included Extranet and Enterprise File Exchange (for partners) for example.
Resolve high profile or challenging B2B requests from multiple businesses. Also resolving critical B2B requests for outages or other problems post-implementation.
Acting as a first point of escalation for 'routine' B2B requests that are typically handled by BA 1's on the team.
Leading the cross functional team 'Enterprise B2B team and attend regular meetings to help us understand our clients needs and to communicate direction of B2B efforts.
Providing presentations on B2B technologies.
Business partnerships.
Conduct impact analysis of new products, systems, upgrades and changes for major segments of the organization, and may oversee systems and business processes for feasibility.
Will also prepare complex documentation impacting major segment projects, maintain and demonstrate expert knowledge of information systems technology and resources throughout major segments of the organization, facilitate process mapping sessions for highly complex, multi-segment business processes, and lead the development and presentation of the ROI model.
Advanced ad-hoc report writing through the use of tools such as SQL and ODBC, directing the creation of software test plans and coordinating tests, and demonstrating advanced communication techniques in the facilitation of conflict resolution and presentation skills.
Leading the implementation and communication efforts of new programs/ processes/ systems, significantly influencing system design, configuration, and business processes to meet users needs, and presenting key findings, possible alternatives, and recommendations to next level management.
Ability to access all data outlets that customers interface with, will be responsible for mentoring and training new department staff members on complex concepts and/or procedures, and will develop reporting/tracking systems and project methodologies for project teams.
Familiar with technical diagram/process flow-charting, and MS Office Applications, including MS Project (project scheduling, time management) and MS Windows, and participate in professional organizations that apply to job responsibilities.
Top Skills/Qualifications:
2 years + working with B2B/B2C solutions (ie. Extranet applications, Identity Management Systems, VPNs)
Infrastructure/networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, Secure Email, (TLS),web portal technologies, VPN, etc
8 years related IS experience
Project Management and Business Analysis experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or Life Sciences.
MS Office applications MS Project
