Summary:

As a key member of the Information System & Technology team, the DBA is responsible for design, maintenance and to ensure high availability of a 24X7 Production database system. Day-to-day duties also include planning and implementation of processes to streamline database changes across several environments.

Responsibilities:

. Responsible for development of stored procedures, triggers and ETL scripts.
. Proactively monitor the Production Database and optimize stored procedures for better performance. Resolve locking conflicts and resource utilization.
. Ensure all database environments (Development, Staging, QA and Production) are in sync. Define db scripts versioning system to keep track of database versions for all environments.
. Manage and Create database schemas for Relational Database Systems (optimize index creation, table creation, storage allocations, etc.)
. Responsible for extensive application/SQL monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, high-availability strategies in a Windows 2000/ SQL Server 2000 24X7production environment.

Experience/Skills
Qualifications: . Bachelors Degree in Computer Technology or equivalent experience. . 3-5 Years SQL Server DBA Experience, 2 Years SQL 2000 Experience is a MUST. Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication skills are essential. . Expert in T-SQL language. . Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and as a member of the production support team. . Experience with large databases with high transaction volume in a fast-paced, production environment. . Maintaining High-availability systems (7x24x365) in an E-commerce environment. . Experience with Backup & Recovery, Security, Performance monitoring and tuning. . Experience with SQL Server Logshipping, Replication and Clustering. . Physical database design for SQL Server 2000.
