Description
State Agency seeking a short term (6 months) contractor as a Senior Applications-Systems Analyst and Database Architect to evaluate the merger and/or migration of Microsoft Access databases and applications used in agency. The selected Minimum Requirements: The following hands-on, technical knowledge and experience -
2 years of conversion/consolidation/migration experience from Access to an RDBMS (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server) in both applications and databases.
5 years technical experience in RDBMS, systems architecture, design, and administration.
5 years technical experience on projects or operational activities in the same capacity as requested in this task order and completed similar deliverables.
2 years experience in customer service and business process re-engineering.
Proven knowledge of systems and software development life cycles methodologies.
Formal requirements analysis using industry standards like use cases, UML, etc.
RDBMS design and concepts.
Data modeling (DFD) and entity relationships diagramming.
Analyzing and re-engineering business process and system flows.
Systems analysis and design.
Optimizing and tuning databases and applications.
Gathering and analyzing functional requirements.
Versed in multiple RDBMS technologies and their integration with applications.
Data interchange techniques such as ODBC.
Knowledge of PowerBuilder and other application development technologies in regards to their use with Microsoft Access and SQL Server databases.
Knowledge of C# and .NET software development technologies.
Understands the Project Management Institute's methodologies.
