We are currently seeking a Sr Application Configuration Engineer to be located at either Harland Clarke's San Antonio, TX or Atlanta, GA offices.

Performs checkpoint reviews and provides documentation on requirements gap analysis, application configuration/customization, integration test scripts, etc. ( 5%)

Position Summary

This is a senior role on the Software Configuration Management team and this individual will lead package application configuration activities. This individual will be the technical lead for projects and act as a Technical SME for package application configuration. This role includes mentoring junior team members to enable cross-training of application functionality in other modules, as well as in standard application functionality of customizing, use of application development tool. This individual is responsible for requirements gathering, design, testing, configuring, and deploying application enhancements as approved by management. This individual will ensure that proper procedures are maintained in change control, during all testing of new customization and during hot fix updates or software version updates.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Essential duties are identified by asterisks.
Leads projects and application development activities with respect to configuration, scripting and integrating with other systems. ( 40%)

Leads technical requirement and design activities. ( 15%)

Follows appropriate change control procedures for moving new configurations or maintenance programs through the landscape. ( 10%)

Follows appropriate application security procedures to ensure that all application configuration is in accordance with security requirements of the company. (Sarbanes Oxley & SAS 70) ( 10%)

Programs custom code/adapters used for interfaces and data conversion. ( 15%)

Perform all other duties as assigned. ( 5%)

Education & Knowledge Required

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or business-related (functional) discipline (accounting, finance, etc.), with an understanding of programming concepts. ClearCase related experience will be considered preferential. 5 years experience with specific package application/module knowledge.

Experience / Skills / Abilities Required

Experience with structured design, development and implementation of new computing architectures around packaged applications.

Strong experience with the customization toolset of the specific packaged applications supported

Experience in working with Application Suppliers, technical support channels

Exposure to different application integration technologies

Experience in leading and mentoring technical, creative and business professionals

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

At least five years of in-depth experience in the support of client/server systems.

Successfully worked with end users to develop effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.

Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and the ability to achieve results through others.

Successfully developed and implemented new technology and work processes.

Supervisory Responsibility

None

Communication & Contacts Required

Internal IT Staff members, peer team members from other internal organizations, external consultants and vendor representatives and Corporate and IT management.

Decision Making

Able to consult and transfer knowledge and act as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems. Ability to deal with changing priorities

Ability to work with team members across various IT departments. Ability to coordinate activities and lead teams to resolve issues.
