PETCO has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst in our Accounting Operations/Systems Group to perform both high level and in depth analyses for all PETCO departments and levels of management. Also, to manage system enhancements, new business initiatives, and Information System package selection, business improvement initiatives such as process re-engineering to aid management in making sound business decisions, both strategic and tactical in nature.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Interact professionally and effectively through excellent written and oral communication skills to all levels of the organization; demonstrate communication and presentation skills, especially to corporate Senior Management.

Be a “business expert”, knowledgeable of current and future trends in the business, industry and information technology and systems, and be able to identify process improvement opportunities and create innovative and efficient solutions to business problems.

Gather data, analyze information, develop conclusions, communicate recommendations clearly and work effectively with others on a team; effectively translate complex data and analyses to all levels within the organization.

Demonstrate strong management skills, particularly in respect to prioritization and execution, along with strong leadership and relationship skills across functional areas.

Demonstrate creative problem solving through pattern reorganization and thinking along unconventional lines.

Reviews, analyzes and evaluated business systems and user needs. Documents business and/or technical requirements, defines scope and objectives and formulates systems to meet overall business strategies.

Demonstrate initiative; to work independently and in cross functional teams.

Ability to think strategically and effectively implement tactical elements to ensure strategic goals are met.

Be mature, highly motivated, have a professional demeanor, and be capable of working with and/or leading cross-functional teams in an effective and collaborative manner.

Ability to be flexible and multi-task under tight deadlines.

Manage work stream from an assigned portion of the business (e.g. Operations, Merchandising, Testing, Advertising, Information Technology, etc.). Includes serving as liaison for assigned department, managing all analyses and special project requests.

Perform company critical analyses and present findings directly to Senior Management.

Proactively identify business improvement opportunities, develop high-level solution, receive buy-in from affected departments and lead solution development and implementation project.

Provide direction and guidance to analysts within the department on large scale projects. Review the work of others and to assist in ensuring accuracy in analysis and direction.

Complete special projects as assigned.



Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Market Analysis or related field; MBA strongly preferred. Strong track record of identifying business needs and delivering analysis that sheds light on the underlying issues. 10+ years business experience including analysis, metrics, reporting and developing recommendations. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is required. Advanced knowledge of process mapping and project management methodology(ies) gained through proven project and process management experience requirements definition methodology gained through proven project and process management experience, and willingness to learn or integrate analytic and process improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma is a plus. Advanced communication and presentation skills are required.
