Description
Our client, a leader in IT services, is seeking a Sr. Cisco Network Engineer for their Nashville headquarters. Excellent compensation package and benefits.

Summary: Support the technical needs of both internal and external customers to maintain the highest levels of network availability, performance, and growth all with the utmost respect, professionalism, and courtesy. To research, evaluate, recommend, design, implement, and support current and new network technologies supporting overall infrastructure improvement. Serve as high level technical consultants to our sales team and provide them with the necessary information to help sell our products and services. Provide documentation relative to the existing Cisco Powered network and as it evolves in such a manner as to provide other department’s information and internal knowledge transfer. Periodic travel within our service area. Cisco CCNP certification is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, build, implement, and support new network architectures in a predominantly Cisco environment.
  • Administer and maintain existing network. Provide support for customer issues and coordinate third party vendor interaction to ensure prompt and professional resolution.
  • Serve as high level technical consultants to our sales team as well as pre-sales engineering with our customers.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies. Knowledge transfer, cross-training, and documentation in a group setting.
  • Travel required throughout our service area.
  • After-hours on-call support rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering preferred; Cisco CCNP certification is preferred. 5 + years of LAN and WAN implementation experience. Significant and demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting large scale multi-protocol network with strong experience configuring Cisco routers and switches. Experience working with OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, Network Security (PIX Firewalls) as well as Frame Relay, ATM and ISDN technologies. Must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities; must have a positive attitude, ability to work in a team environment and perform efficiently with minimal supervision.
