PLEASE NOTE: This position will work night shift. Typical work week will be 3 days (7pm to 7am).

The Senior Computer Operator is under direction of the Shift Supervisor. The Senior Computer Operator is responsible for the daily computer systems operations, as well as timely and accurate processing of information through the computer systems. This involves the monitoring of all the computer systems for problems, running programs on-line, submitting jobs for batch control of job output.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Controls job processing on the computer systems, both on-line and batch.
*Monitors and insures that all systems tasks are operating normally.
*Manages and maintains CPUâ??s and peripheral devices used in the enterprise data center.
*Insures strict adherence to all Information Technology and Distributed Systems Operations policies and procedures.
*Takes general direction and follows tasks through to a timely and accurate completion with little or no supervision.
*Delegates certain tasks to the appropriate operations staff, as well as making sure these are performed on a timely basis.
*Determines and implements appropriate course of action in problem situations including both hardware and/or software problems.
*Document all Production, Quality, and Education problems per the procedures that are in place.
*Provides supervision to data center staff in the absence of the Operation Shift Manager.
*Strives to learn the job functions of the System Administrator, Senior Systems Administrator, and Operations Shift Manager as well as peer level positions with whom the individual interacts. It is the responsibility of the individual to be prepared for temporary re-assignment and/or promotion due to extended illness, personal emergency, or business necessity.
*Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during period of personnel illness, vacation or education.
*Know how to respond to, and have an understanding of the emergency panels located in the Control Center.
*Have a basic understanding of the electrical layout for the Technology Center.

QUALIFICATIONS
*High school diploma or equivalent
*3 years relevant experience
*SOFTWARE - Autosys, Exec View, Patrol, Net IQ, Wiley, Powerstore, Exceed, Informatica, UNIX commands, Sun Solaris
*HARDWARE - IBM Servers including AS400, Sun Servers, HP, EMC

Preferred Qualifications
*BS or BA degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
*6 - 8 years Information Technology experience in the enterprise hardware environment
*Good verbal and written communication skillsdf-tc
