Senior Computer Specialist: Responsible for providing computing and consulting support for clients in a major organizational unit (or units) within the University, in the context of a centrally managed desktop computing environment A Client Services Specialist is required to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve highly complex computing problems; define information systems specifications and coordinate the implementation of highly complex computing systems; and educate clients in and promote understanding and implementation of the University's stated computing and communication strategies, policies and standards for computing and networking.

Experience/Skills
Requirements: - Minimum Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business administration, or related field.

Required - Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 4 years experience performing progressively more complex and responsible tasks including: consulting support of computer application software systems; systems implementation, operations and support.

Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, user liaison skills and personal interaction abilities.

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good independent judgment in the application of computing policies.

Demonstrated knowledge of MS Windows 98, XP and 2000 & familiarity with graphical user interfaces.

Demonstrated knowledge of networked desktop computing in a UNIX environment.

Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions for academic, instructional, business and research needs.

Experience in a large and complex computing environment.
Conditions of Employment:
