WORK ENVIRONMENT:
ACS is seeking a self-motivated, self-starting individual with demonstrated ability to perform under minimum supervision. An individual who can perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a senior developer working in team environments. Position is in our Advanced Concepts Group working on assigned projects; reporting to group manager or team lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr .NET Developer is responsible for receiving work specifications from the architects team and produce high-quality software components, provide feedback, test, etc. Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Preparation of detailed specifications from which programs will be written;
  • Application of configuration management procedures for changes to the software;
  • Performance of associated process studies, research investigations and requirements analyses of all aspects of assigned projects, by applying analytical and modeling techniques, procedures and criteria in specialized area;
  • Code and maintain business applications based on business requirements, using various programming languages;
  • Is well versed in .NET technology;
  • May plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage non-complex projects.
  • Software design, engineering and/or development for government uses;
  • Participation in the development and preparation of documentation for, but not limited to, procedural, program and user documentation;
  • Designs, develops, installs, implements, fine tunes, documents and/or maintains databases, database dictionaries; monitors standards and procedures and integrates systems through database design and administration;
  • Works with users to ensure successful system implementation; may assist in user training;
  • Occasionally, may provide guidance and assists in training of less experienced staff;
  • May research or write portions of technical proposals;
  • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge and compiles information into recommendations and analyses.

    SKILLS & ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
    Prefer candidate be familiar and proficient with the following skills and experience:
  • 7+ years total professional experience with software development;
  • 3+ years recent development with .NET;
  • Develop/maintain complex applications using .NET toolset (VB.NET, ASP.Net, C#);
  • Development Platforms/IDEs: Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
  • Database Servers: Microsoft SQL Server
  • O/S Experience: Microsoft Windows (95, 98, NT, 200x)
  • Source Code Version Control: CVS, Microsoft Visual Source Safe, Microsoft Team Foundation Server;
  • Experience with Microsoft Smart Client Framework desirable
    * Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis, Design, and Programming
    * Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to handle assignments concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

    Prefer minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible related technical experience, including 3 years developing large, technically complex systems and

    Prefer 2 years with major responsibility for developing, revising and controlling technical documentation of a complex system.
