Senior Flash Engineer - Disney Online Technology




POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Flash Engineer candidate will be a lead for the Flash technology platform(s) at Disney Online, working to create new architectures and websites, update existing websites, create Flash-related standards, as well as provide technical leadership, feedback, and oversight for technical initiatives. This candidate should excel in all components of the Flash development skill set and specifically expertise in Actionscript 3.0, as well as the Web Development skill set including: HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, Management Systems, site maintenance and troubleshooting.

Candidate should have experience driving technology-wide Flash architectures and platform decisions and processes and provide technical architecture oversight, communicate technical decisions and processes. The Senior Flash Engineer will manage client and business expectations. This candidate should have the ability to deliver projects successfully and on time with little oversight required.

Candidates for this position are also expected to constantly improve production delivery techniques, and the ability to help standardize that process and improve upon it. The Sr. Flash Engineer is called upon to develop new Flash-based technologies for planned or existing sites, and to integrate technology into these sites. This candidate should have exceptional technical skills, proven people and team management skills and communication skills.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION


Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or EE preferred
Expert knowledge of ActionScript 3.0/2.0, Flash, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript,
Expertwith .jsp, .php, .cfm, or .asp (or similar object-oriented server-side scripting languages)
Proven ability to work with and provide leadership to all members of a diverse project team
Content Management System Architecting experience
Flash platform Architect
Experience drafting requirements and functional specifications
Proven ability to lead technical projects and technical teams
Extensive structured programming experience
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
Experience with leading geographically separated projects and teams is a plus



SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED


5 or more years as a Lead developer for Flash-based projects
5 or more years of experience as a project lead/team lead
4 years experience designing complex applications in Flash
4 years of Object Oriented ActionScript experience
Solid working experience with the latest Flash and related technologies: Flex, Remoting, etc.
4 years experience with consuming XML within Flash
4 years experience in working with and creating dynamically generated variable SWF files
4 years experience working with Audio assets within flash, related to ActionScript events/user interactions
Expert experience in documenting Flash functionality
Experience in manipulating image files for use in Flash, with image optimization
Experience in working with Content Management Systems in relation to Flash
Strong experience in bandwidth optimization of SWFs and related assets
