Summary:
The primary function is to monitor and modify implemented network security tools and processes for the protection of information assets and to minimize security risks to the company network. Applies current security technologies to the monitoring and integration of operating systems and network components to maintain overall security. Works with commercial security products and vendors in the upgrades network security tools. Involved in security issues including methodologies, practices, encryption and specific network security tools and mechanisms.

1. Develops, maintain, and direct implementation of IS security vision in support of the defined mission.
2. Institute a manageable security architecture with soundly executed plans.
3. Creating and supporting Info Sec related policy & procedures that meet or exceed requirements for regulatory compliance.
4. Use management techniques that provide for high customer service levels.
5. Insure IT Compliance with SOX requirements.
6. Responsible for overseeing and facilitating Incident response plans.
7. Manage security infrastructure that's based in capital & expense budgets.
8. Assist in managing initiatives consistent with corporate directives and IS planning strategies.
9. Lead risk assessment efforts and manage formal process development.
10. Assisting in the creation of training programs based on security principles.
11. Design and implement disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, and software applications.
12. Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor compliance of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
13. Recommend and supervise implementation and operation of security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software.
14. Ensure all computer security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software are operated in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards.
15. Develop and implement initiatives to increase employee security awareness and compliance.
16. Develop and lead the Company's computer incident response team.
17. Review and approve processes for managing end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
18. Conduct regular reviews of IT security threats and vulnerabilities.
19. Evaluate security aspects of new technologies and defines security requirements.
20. Review and approve connection security for local area networks, the company Web site & Portal the company intrante, and e-mail communications.
21. Ensure the security of databases and data transferred both internally and externally.
22. Design, perform, and/or oversee penetration testing of all systems in order to identify system vulnerabilities.
23. Interact with various law enforcement agencies, auditors, and legal agencies as required.
24. Design and conduct compliance audits for all aspects of IT security policy and procedures.
25. Ensure server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic is effectively monitored for unusual or suspicious activity.
26. Ensures software fixes and security patches are applied on a timely basis.
27. Keep current with emerging security issues.
28. Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts.
29. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to obtain protection services and products.
30. Provide on-call security support to end-users.
31. Provide guidance to other IT professionals.
32. Ensures adherence of the IT department formal processes, standards and total quality practices in all activities.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Computer Science. Two additional years of experience may be substituted for each missing year of education.
