Description
Large investment firm is seeking a senior Java developer with solid Unix and SQL (relational database) experience for the Database / Loader team. This position is for a BACK-END Java/Perl based Database Loader developer. J2EE Technologies are not and will not be employed in this area.

Required Skills:
- Java - Core Java, JDBC, Threads, Collections, File I/O.
- Data Structures Concepts (Not plain Java Collections; CS level knowledge required) - Trees, Hash Tables, etc.
- SQL and Stored Procedure Development and Performance Tuning. (Knowledge and Experience with UDB and Sybase preferred)
- Unix / Linux Command Line operation and programming - At least basic knowledge of the Unix/Linux command line environment including common commands, editors such as Emacs or VI, and basic shell scripting is required.
- Perl Programming - At least basic development using perl in a Unix environment is desired.
- Must have financial industry experience.
- A Computer Science or equivalent background is desired.
- Candidates will be expected to participate in a support rotation and carry a pager.

This is a 12 month contract position with possibility for extension/permanent employment.df-tc
