Senior Manager, Business Consulting

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Consulting plays a leadership role in structuring and planning client engagements, developing client relationships; and managing delivery teams. This individual will be a primary interface with clients and client teams to eventually become their trusted advisor; helping them to drive innovative strategies to improve business performance. Business consultants at Sapient focus primarily in three key areas:

Business Problem Solving ? Take ambiguous and complex business problems and using research and business assessment capabilities, define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend actionable next steps.
Informed Business Decision Making - Bring rigor a client?s decision making process by performing detailed cost/benefit analysis, presenting and evaluating solution options, and driving consensus among key stakeholders. In some instances, we help our clients develop new decision frameworks and governance processes that continue to deliver value far beyond a particular engagement.
Solution Planning - Define, scope and plan new solutions for clients. This includes determining how to measure business results, modeling current/future business processes, gather business requirements and identifying the organizational changes required to successfully realize the benefits of the solution.

This individual will also be expected to use their unique skills to drive both sales pursuits and strategies, and to analyze and structure complex, long-term contracts with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned:
o Day-to-day management and execution of key workstreams or engagements in accordance with established budget, workplans and quality standards. This may include:
o Financial analysis and business case development
o Primary and secondary research and analysis
o Customer, vendor, market analyst and client interviews
o Solution scoping and definition
o Lead and manage effective teams including individuals from different disciplines
o Structure and price complex client engagements
o Monitor financial performance of engagements
o Develop new conceptual frameworks and analytical approaches
o Develop and present solutions and recommendations
o Own and grow senior client executives
o Guide, mentor and grow business consultants
o Actively participate in new business development activities
o Practice development, including recruiting, training, thought leadership and community building

Job Requirements:

Education:
Ideal candidate will have an MBA or MS degree in related field.

Experience Guidelines:

o At least 7 years of relevant work experience; consulting experience is a plus
o Creativity with an eye to developing new and innovative solutions
o Established track record of effectively leading teams and motivate others to take action
o Ability to manage and grow complex client relationships
o Track record of managing and growing people
o Ability to structure and plan large projects/programs
o Proficient across particular functional areas and industries
o Strong problem identification and analytical skills
o Financial analysis and business case development capabilities
o Proven ability to identify and cultivate new business opportunities
o Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability effectively communicate and interact with senior clients
o Ability to manage projects to revenue and margin targets
o Expert in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project

Significant travel may be required as much of the work is done at the client site.
