Dimension & Scope:

Managesupportleadand direct a team of skilled technical personnel responsible for supporting one or more technical disciplines at a business unit/center.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain overall responsibility for the management of work in Vantive inboxes, including commitment to meet stated SLA’s.Provide on-call technical support via pager as required.Overall responsibility for the business continuity readiness of the technical infrastructure.Interface with network services management team to provide site and team updates, as well as learn of communications that need to be provided to the team.Make decisions in resolving escalated problems and issues.Prioritize work to be done by technicians, as needed.Work on and/or lead corporate network services initiatives.Develop and plan for a managerial succession plan.Work with hardware/software vendors on billing and/or maintenance contract issuesOversee the deployment of corporate hardware/software initiatives.Participate as part of committee on company initiatives.In cases of remote sites managed, visit sites regularly to meet with technicians and site management.Proactively engage with business units and projects to ensure work is completed in timely manner and the needs of the business are met.Interface with clients and network analysts in defining and understanding the needs of a project and the business unitPrimary point of contact when managing several locations or a large client.Lead staff meetings on regular basis to inform team of business activities, and plan for on-going work and projects.Develop vision for leading team in support of overall business initiatives.Oversee management of the switch room environment, ensuring all backups, monitoring, and maintenance take place.Responsible for selecting, training, developing, and managing performance of direct reports in area of specialty; and mentoring, coordinating, planning, and providing direction for work group(s) in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable legal requirements.

Education & Professional Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or universitySix to eight years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceNote: Technical Certification of LAN, Cisco, Windows Operating System (MCSE) is expected at this level.
