The Position

As a member of the Information Technology team, responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the company's systems/network infrastructure and projects, contributing to the department's corporate mission.


Must be competent to manage Information Technology projects:
? Provide detailed management of IT corporate project plans and appropriate and detailed status reporting.
? Design, installation and maintenance of network infrastructure including routers, switches, VPN, and cabling topology.
? Excellent organization skills, project tracking abilities, communications skills (both verbal and written); strong focus and attention to detail; the ability to work in a very fast-paced, hectic, and energetic environment.
? Specification and installation of network and systems infrastructure and application systems.
? Self directed with excellent leadership and facilitation skills.

Must be able to support the operations of the FEI Information Technology Group:
? Support Help desk / Network Administrators with server and network based problem resolution.
? Responsible for the continued development, maintenance and monitoring of systems and network monitoring. Update management with systems and network metrics.
? Maintenance and Monitoring of network servers. Responsible for both hardware (primarily HP based) and software in a mixed operating system environment (Windows Server, Linux, AIX, HP/UX, Sharepoint, Exchange, IIS, etc)
? Must be proficient at documenting systems and changes to systems.
? Partner with other members of IT team to support various other server based applications (Payroll, HR system, Intranet, etc).
? Provisioning remote office LAN and remote connectivity.
? Coordination and deployment of multi-vendor networking gear.
? Strong scripting skills a plus (e.g., PERL, shell scripting, Python).
? Working with and developing systems and network monitoring tools.

Must be proficient in Information Technology security systems:
Help define overall network security strategies and procedures.
? Design and maintain Firewall and VPN infrastructure.
? Review system/network logs and mitigate/report all security issues.
? Develop and implement network intrusion detection, corporate security, and DoS prevention systems.
? Perform security reviews and audits to help FEI IT with network security issues.

Participate in rotating "on call" schedule with other members of the team.

Evaluate new and emerging products and technologies.


The Requirements

? BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
? 5+ years experience in a similar information technology role.
? Experience designing and administering an enterprise level Network Infrastructure. (LAN and WAN)
? Prior experience managing IT project workloads.
? Cisco experience required. (routers, switches, VPN)
? Experience designing and administering an Enterprise level Microsoft Server Infrastructure. (Sharepoint, Exchange, IIS).
? Good working experience with the UNIX operating system environment.
? Work well with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of initiative.
? Verifiable problem solving and project management skills.
? Well organized; team oriented.df-tc
