REQUIREMENTS/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate must be a self-motivated, self-starter with demonstrated ability to perform under minimum supervision in a very fast paced, complex environment. Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and other employees. Candidate must be flexible and willing to handle such tasks that will vary in level of experience.
This candidate will be responsible for the operational support and engineering of LAN/WAN, Active Directory (AD) system and network and Microsoft Exchange for a multi-agency wide network within our customer’s facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Engineers’ primary responsibility will be to assist leadership and provide support for the operations group. This includes administration of Windows Active Directory, which requires a strong knowledge of multi-domain forest, replication, WINS and DNS. Additional responsibilities would include installation, daily maintenance, repairs, system upgrades, technical support, etc. Implement and audit of security configurations, AD account/group administration related activities, and configuration and implementation of Active Directory site configurations group policies and local security policies. Monitoring of AD replication and core services, facilitating automation and standardization for creation and maintenance of access of network resources. Cross-train in various support areas in order to provide assistance during after hour’s on-call rotation. Candidate will also ensure that all documentation on security process and procedures are available and updated regularly. Review, Implement, Test, Administer and maintain an Active Directory and DNS architecture for a large enterprise. Examine requirements documents and create technical design documents, unit test, system test, user acceptance test, and implementation plans for division and provide feedback on such designs.

Candidate would need to be knowledgeable in the following areas.
  • Microsoft Exchange - 5.5/2003/2007
  • Microsoft Windows – 2000/2003/2008 - Complete understanding of large-scale enterprise systems as well as complex system deployments and migration planning objects using Microsoft Products with a strong emphasis on Windows 2008.
  • Extensive Active Directory experience and DNS planning, deployment and support experience, in addition to AD security delegation, AD disaster recovery, and AD group policy creation and administration.
  • Heavy DNS/WINS knowledge and experience
  • SCCM experience
  • FTP knowledge setup and functionality
  • Linux/Unix experience a plus
  • VMWare experience a plus
  • LAN/WAN – Router/Switch configuration and management experience a plus
  • ITIL certification a plus
    An adjusted work week including evenings and weekends 24/7 may be required.
    ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED:
  • AD/DNS Integration with virtual server deployments.
  • Broad understanding of an array of technologies and their use, such as: MS Exchange, SCCM, SMS, SQL Server, SharePoint, Exchange Hosted Services, SCOM, ISA, and WSUS. MS SQL Database design/administration (2005 or 2008) preferred.
  • Script development for task automation. Experience in technical lead roles for Active Directory, DNS, MS SQL, and Active Directory.
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    The candidate must have 5 or more years of experience in performing the duties outlined above as well as:
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Techonology or related fields.
  • Candidate must have MCSE or equivalent experience in Microsoft Products.
  • Proven experience in managing IT Projects and Active Directory in an operations environment.
  • Must have an outstanding ability to analyze problems, propose solution options and structure solution plans.
  • Experience in IT software deployment and/or migration is required.
  • Microsoft Exchange certified or equivalent years of service in exchange mail service support, administration and engineering.
  • The candidate must have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • ITIL certification or similar experience is desired.
