GENERAL JOB FUNCTION:

TRASYS, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Operations Engineer in Cincinnati, OH.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the primary responsible party for configuring, implementing and documenting required IT infrastructure and technical operating processes.

Configure and implement IT infrastructure adhering to enterprise architecture requirements as defined in collaboration with the IT Architecture and Development teams. Translate architecture specifications into operational configurations, installation/deployment plans, implementation change orders.

In collaboration with development, architecture, operations, technical support and vendor teams determine appropriate infrastructure engineering standards and deployment/build standards and develop supporting processes and documentation.
Serve as technical lead for implementations and deployments ensuring that all infrastructure components are configured and installed according to standards and plan. Supervise other operations engineers and technical resources during configuration and installation.
Diagnose and resolve issues escalated from other support levels. Serve as technical escalation point for server administrators, systems engineers and desktop technicians. Work directly with users, administrators, developers, architects and vendors as necessary to identify, implement and document resolution. Adapt engineering standards as appropriate to incorporate resolution to ensure problems do not recur.
Assist in the training of technical staff in diagnosis and resolution skills. Review support requests and trouble tickets to determine if appropriate diagnosis and resolution was achieved. Develop diagnostic processes, evaluate, recommend and deploy appropriate diagnostic tools for use by technical support staff.
Monitor and test system performance prior to production use. Prepare and deliver system production performance profile to define production operating characteristics and capacity. Work with vendors and technical resources to develop capacity monitoring metrics. Review capacity metrics regularly and recommend appropriate configuration changes and infrastructure expansion to ensure environment meets business capacity requirements.
Work with project manager, development, architecture, operations and technical support teams to conduct user acceptance testing. Modify configuration and deployment as necessary to meet agreed upon and approved customer acceptance criteria.
