We're looking for highly motivated & technically seasoned Sr. Oracle Database Administrators to make a real impact on our daily production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and implementation of new features in Oracle and functionality and performance tuning, troubleshooting and issue resolution across complex 10g and 9i RAC and non RAC environments. The individual will also be responsible for analyzing, solving and creating solutions for challenging performance tuning situations. The Oracle DBA will also be responsible for all standard database administrative tasks, such as: proactive performance tuning, monitoring and profiling, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery, partitioning, replication, installations and configurations on an as needed basis as well as applying patches and upgrades. Strong knowledge of Oracle internals and the wait interface are required. The ideal candidate should be capable of mentoring other team members in the use and best practices concerning Oracle Technologies, options and features, while keeping abreast of emerging technologies and features.

Responsibilities:

* Perform ongoing database administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, tuning, installation, backup/recovery, and data migration of Oracle databases running on Unix servers.
* Work closely with the Software Development staff to design and implement systems that leverage the Oracle Server technology.
* Take on call and shift duty for 24x7 support schedule.

Experience/Skills
Requirements:

* Minimum of 7+ years experience performing Oracle administration including version 8, 9, and 10.
* Strong knowledge with UNIX Shell programming.
* Proven experience with Oracle features such as RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, partitioning, streams, replication, and parallel processing.
* Demonstrated strong working experience of database administration, backup and recovery, modeling, tuning, monitoring, and security within the last 3 years.
* Solid understanding of database and data warehouse design.
* B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field.

Skills:

* Oracle 9i, and / or 10g database administration experience
* Experience with Oracle features (RAC, Data Guard, Streams, replication, partitioning)
* STATSPACK, and/or Quest Spotlight
* PL/SQL and SQL tuning
* Oracle RMAN and various backup/recovery methods
* Solaris 8 and above
* Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1+
* UNIX shell programming
