Purpose of Position The Sr Oracle financial applications analyst provides advanced functional and technical expertise and guidance for the implementation and support of the Oracle financials applications suite. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities -Provides functional and technical customer support for Oracle financials software and associated interfaces. -Works with DBA and UNIX teams to monitor and tune performance of the system, develop and implement backup and recovery procedures, perform installations and apply patches and upgrades to all components of the Oracle applications framework. -Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning. -Performs Oracle applications administrative tasks such as security, printers, profiles, menus, flex fields, value sets, concurrent managers and registering forms and reports with the application object library. -Provides technical leadership to staff. -Performs research and fact finding to develop or modify application programs. Includes working with vendors to review quality, adaptability and compatibility of their products. -Evaluates user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems and computer capabilities. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Assists in creation of functional specification with users and technical specifications with technical team members.
