Sr. / Principal Network Engineer - Viral Video (High Traffic Site)-SPE-1108

Grouper Networks is developing software applications that allow people to share personal video clips with friends online both privately and publicly. Grouper has a unique work environment with the advantages of a fast-paced, small software startup and the resources and backing of SONY. We are looking for a Sr. /Principal Network Engineer to join our team and to work on exciting bleeding-edge projects in the digital video creation, discovery and sharing space. You will be a senior member of both the development and operations teams. This role will include architecture and administration responsibilities. The position will be responsible for design, implementation and 24X7 support of mission critical database systems.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain network systems
- Architect, build and maintain IP routing infrastructure for private peering, bandwidth aggregation and routing.
- Architect, build and maintain LAN switching infrastructure, load balancing systems and network security systems (firewalls, etc.)
- Architect, build and maintain office connectivity circuits, VPNs, and office/production network security components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot networking and security systems with a focus on high-availability at colo facilities.
- Performance tuning of networking systems and .NET application logic on Windows 2003 server systems.
- 24x7 Monitoring and administration of all production network components.
- Architect, build and maintain best practice for network systems management.
- Disaster prevention and recovery.

Experience:
- Expert IP routing and switching as well as experience managing =C3=A2??Internet scale=C3=A2?=C2=9D networking hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build and manage multi-gigabit diverse private peering Internet facing networks.
- Expert with routers, switches, and security devices (Cisco, F5, Juniper)
- Expert with various networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, HSRP, etc.
- Experience with various network circuit types including GigE, OC (3/12/48/192), CWDM, DWDM, short/long haul optics, etc.
- Experience with implementing network management best practices including change control, secure network management, monitoring, etc.
- Expert networking troubleshooter =C3=A2?? ability to use sniffers to debug complex networking issues.
- Experience with ISPs and other Internet network organizations (ARIN, etc.)
- Experience with security best practices
- Ability to lift 50lbs over head.
- Willing to be on call (and respond) 24*7

Education:
- Academic Degree and industry certification holders will have an advantage in the selection process.
- This position is located in Sausalito, California.
