Reports to Director, Engineering Services (while this role remains unstaffed, role reports to EI Lab Exec Director/CTO).

This position works in building and designing large scale web applications. Maintenance and extension of our existing web-based applications is also required.

Responsibilities
- Lead Internet application design and development.

- Analyze and convert business and system requirements into detailed system design, technical specification, and programming code.

- With CTO, architect platform and products for scalability, flexibility, usability, and robustness.

- Devise API frameworks for integrable suite of products.
- Participate as a key member of the cross-functional design and development team through all phases of the software development project cycle.
- Debug and troubleshoot existing applications. Experience with reverse engineering, documenting, and proposing strategic redesign of code base elements a plus.

Experience/Skills
One to two years of production level ColdFusion experience is required.
- Experience with implementing open source frameworks, AJAX a must; PHP, Ruby strongly desired.
10-15 years as a software engineer
- Software development process (including RAD) and best practices trained.
- Applicants must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams as well as being self-motivated, organized and detail oriented, able to meet deadlines and be dedicated to creating great products. Strong team ethic and experience in and interest in team and peer development a necessity.
