Description
Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Solaris
operating systems. Recognizes and troubleshoots problems with server hardware
and applications software. Establishes and documents standards and procedures
for management review. Requires extensive knowledge of computer operations and
familiarity with shell and kernel programming.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
5+ years Sun Solaris 8, 9
Windows 2000, XP
Oracle DBMS 8.X, 9I
Scripting languages: Shell, SQL
Clustering protocols LLT GAB HA
Veritas Netbackup, tar, cpio
Veritas Volume Manager
Sun Disk Suite and RAID
Monitoring tools

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Maintain high availability servers
. Apply software revisions, patches, and hardware installation
. Provide backup support in areas of database administration
. Provide Daybreak application support
. Implement code and scripts to handle Daybreak interface processes
. Assure normal completion of Daybreak daily batch processing
. Provide Unix and application training, and support to operations staff
. Perform backup and recovery procedures
. Troubleshoots Unix network configuration and problem resolution with users
. Implement proactive monitoring procedures and scripts
. Work with vendors on development, support, and application troubleshooting
. Perform tasks associated with company's month-end closing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS / BA degree preferred
Relational Databases
Windows 2000 operating system platforms
Network protocols
Data redundancy
Clusters
Backup and recovery
