PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Sr. Systems Security Analyst administers the Vulnerability Management program ensuring vulnerabilities are identified quickly and addressed efficiently, with minimal impact to the business.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Administers the enterprise wide vulnerability management program. Maintains configuration of vulnerability scanning solutions and interprets results. Stays abreast of the latest vulnerabilities and their potential impact to the enterprise. Understands technologies in use and uses that knowledge to determine overall risk. Works with other groups to address vulnerabilities while minimizing impact to the Business.
* Provides expertise and direction for the secure implementation and usage of endpoint security applications, including anti-virus and disk encryption. Works with other departments to ensure related technologies are implemented following best practices for security.
* Incident Response: Reviews events generated by various security systems and investigates as needed. Investigates incidents escalated from other areas, including Human Resources and Legal departments. Documents lessons learned and makes recommendations on any additional controls which are needed to prevent the incident from recurring.
* Technology Evaluation: Assesses the latest security technologies and makes recommendations based on their potential to enhance the security of the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in a 24x7 global enterprise, preferably in the Financial industry
CISSP or SANS GIAC certifications preferred
Knowledge of tools including Foundscan, WebInspect, Encase preferred
Ability to identify and analyze malicious code preferred
Basic coding/scripting knowledge preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of the business and the ability to assess and address risk without negatively impacting the business
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to show initiative and take on new tasks as assigned
Ability to effectively communicate risk as it relates to the business
In depth knowledge of vulnerability management
In depth understanding of Windows operating systems
Ability to evaluate exploit code in relationship to existing security controls
Strong knowledge of networking and internetworking technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.)
Strong knowledge of web application vulnerabilities and solutions
Ability to identify vulnerabilities in networks, systems and applications using COTS tools and manual processes
General knowledge of network and systems forensics
General knowledge of incident response processes and procedures
General knowledge of Unix & Linux operating systems
General knowledge of the functions of various security infrastructure, including firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Proxy Servers, Security Event Managers, VPNs
General knowledge of web application technologies (HTML, JavaScript, etc.)
Ability to provide 24-hour on-call support
College degree and 2 years of related work experience, or Associate degree and 4 years related work experience, or High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience required
