PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Sr. Systems Security Analyst within Enterprise Security supports the implementation and maintenance of various security infrastructure systems including firewalls, proxy servers, intrusion prevention systems, and remote access technologies.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTES:

* Administers and supports existing security infrastructure systems to ensure functionality, availability, and security are maintained. Follows established change control procedures. Evaluates and updates changes to firewall, proxy and intrusion prevention system policies. Upgrades and applies patches to ensure systems are kept current.
* Provides recommendations for the implementation and usage of network security technologies to networking and infrastructure groups. Works with these groups to ensure related technologies are utilized following best practices for security.
* Consults with Business partners and recommends solutions for technologies, such as remote access and secure file transfer, which meet both the needs of the Business and Security. Provides escalated support to end users of the associated network security technologies.
* Technology Evaluation: Assesses the latest security technologies and makes recommendations to management based on their potential to enhance the security of the enterprise. Coordinates testing and evaluation of related new technologies and reports results to management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* 3 College degree in a related field preferred
* Experience in a 24x7 global enterprise, preferably in the Financial industry preferred
* CISSP or SANS GIAC certifications preferred
* Experience with technologies from Juniper Networks, TippingPoint, and BlueCoat preferred

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Understanding of the business and the ability to assess and address risk without negatively impacting the business
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Ability to show initiative and take on new tasks as assigned
* Ability to effectively communicate risk as it relates to the business
* Knowledge of the latest threats and related counter measures
* In depth knowledge of networking and internetworking technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.)
* Strong knowledge of security systems including firewalls, proxies, IPS, VPN
* Strong knowledge of network architecture
* Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues and determine root cause
* General knowledge of Windows, Unix & Linux operating systems
* Ability to provide 24-hour on-call support on a rotational basis
* College degree and 2 years of related work experience, or Associate degree and 4 years related work experience, or * High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience required
