The ESPN Community Product Development group, based in Los Angeles, is seeking a Sr Web Designer. This Sr Web Designer position will serve as a design lead for all Community-related application and environment designs. This position will work closely with the technical members of a small team to implement products and services in the community space for sports fans.
Responsibilities include:

Establishing Design and UI styles for Community products and services
Creation of design libraries and style guides for internal and outsourced design resources
Hands-on execution of designs and interfaces in current web technologies, including DHTML/XHTML, CSS and Javascript and Ajax scripting.
Rapid-prototyping of product and service concepts
Working with design counterparts in other ESPN business units to ensure continuity across product lines.
Supervision of outsourced designers

Required Qualifications:

5+ years experience in web design
Demonstrated proficiency in HTML, DHTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript
Solid understanding of practical benefits and limitations of Internet technologies (Flash, Javascript, CSS, Ajax)
Recent experience in creation of design and UI prototypes in latest Internet technologies
Practical knowledge of community-focused design trends
Knowledge and passion for sports
