Sr. Applications DBALocation: San Francisco, CAJob Description:Applications DBA will own Database Administration of all client applications and corporate infrastructure applications. DBA will be involved in all release activities related to new product release and new Client Engagement. DBA will also be working closely with Engineering on database design, performance, scalability and security requirements. ResponsibilitiesDaily operational support and maintenance of several test and production systems * database upgrades * performance tuning * troubleshooting and problem resolution * application patching * database recovery * database security * on-call support * Database migrationParticipate in testing and validation of new product releaseWork with Engineering on database design, performance and scalabilitySupport Operations team in database loadsSupport end-users in query formulation, optimization and executionJob duties require on-call support in a team rotation to support databases & systems during non-business hours including weekends.Job Requirements: * 8 years of SQLServer experience. Oracle DBA experience will be a plus * Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of SQL Server Database Administration, including tuning, database design, troubleshooting, replication, interfaces, backup and recovery. * Understanding of the application development life cycle and database design. * Knowledge of distributed environments and experience in performance and scalability. * Knowledge of SQL programming, Java, C , PERL will be a plus * Ability to predict and interpret SQL optimizer plans on multiple databases. * Experience with enterprise database oriented applications. * BS in Computers Science, Engineering or IS * Good verbal and written communication skills required. * Self-starter, good initiative with an eagerness and ability to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.df-tc
