Description
  • The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, development and monitoring of the Hyperion System 9 Planning to meet the business needs.
  • Works closely with the Global Finance community to deliver, maintain, troubleshoot and enhance Finance system functionality.
  • Add value to the financial software applications and business through their knowledge of the Hyperion Planning and products, and through their constructive teamwork with the business and other IS teams.
  • Ensure Production environment stability and provide continue support globally.
  • Provide functional and development knowledge in designing Hyperion System 9 Planning solution to meets business requirements.
  • Understands the business processes and how the application supports the business processes and applies this knowledge to best solve problems.
  • Understands dependencies and interrelationships between separate functional modules of Hyperion Planning among forms, business rules, calculation scripts, variables and Essbase databases.
  • Design, build and troubleshoot in the area with this knowledge.
  • Maintains the interface points between Hyperion Planning and other applications.
  • Performs data extraction/load process using HAIC and Essbase lock/send.
  • Manage and maintain Hyperion Essbase servers and Essbase Administration servers.
  • Assists in user requirements gathering and conduct documentation designs.
  • Provides alternatives based on best practices and application functionality.
  • Develops functional specifications and works with technical resources to complete object development and testing.
  • May lead and coordinate the work of a small project team.
  • Provides leadership in the development of functional skills in others through active knowledge sharing.
  • Understands and applies methodologies and procedures.
  • Develops relationships within to leverage firm assets.

    Experience/Skills
  • Requires a BS or MS degree and 5 years experience Hyperion development knowledge
  • 2 yrs project management or work scheduling experience.
  • Extensive financial process and functional knowledge.
  • Demonstrated project management, work planning and prioritization skills for a small group
  • Able to operate largely independently within guidelines to manage own work and the work of a small group
  • Analytical and assessment skills essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge sharing and mentoring skills.
  • At least two full life cycle Hyperion projects.
  • Proven experience in providing system support and direct contact with users to solve issues with business applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Hyperion Planning Application including Essbase, Planning Web, Reports, Share Services and using HAIC interface tool.
  • Strong knowledge on Essbase elements Outlines, dimensions, measures, members, metadata administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Hyperion Application Link (HAL).
  • Proficient in Essbase Excel add in
  • Basic understanding of SAP BW
    Highly Desirable
  • Knowledge of the SAP finance module
  • Knowledge of integration between SAP R/3 and external systems via interfaces
  • Experience in European, U.S. Asia-Pacific, South African business / statutory requirements
  • Knowledge of the use of visual basic
  • Ability to deal with diverse global business users via telephone and understand user requirements.
  • Prior implementation or support with Hyperion Enterprise Consolidation
