Job Description:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for maintaining product, rate and pricing information in the client s OSS and Billing systems. Primary focus will be on the jBilling system but will also expand to other client billing systems. The Analyst will determine business requirements for Billing system changes to support corporate projects and initiatives as well as testing those changes. The Analyst will also be focused on improving existing processes and procedures to streamline operations.

MAJOR TASKS:

  • Build a repeatable, controlled process for end to end implementation of new services, products and rates in the jBilling system, from initial concept to configuration, testing and production auditing.
  • Work closely with Product Management team to determine requirements for products and services that must be billed in jBilling.
  • Determine best approach for supporting in jBilling.
  • Configure the new product offerings in jBilling product catalog.
  • Maintain and modify existing products and rates in jBilling system, taking into consideration the needs of other client departments such as tax and Finance.
  • Act as liaison with other client departments including Order Entry, Provisioning, IT, Customer Service, Tax and Finance to facilitate jBilling system and process changes. This includes writing complex clean up scripts to identify and fix issues, documenting their impacts on all departments, presenting the analysis to the production core team and obtaining change and clean up approval.
  • Analyze Broadsoft VoIP call detail records and determine changes need in jBilling mediation to support switch changes.
  • Modify jBilling to properly mediate records and bill/rate appropriately.
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy of jBilling call rating, recurring and non-recurring charge and discount functionality. Do so using automated and semi-automated methods, including utilization of complex SQL queries and select random audits.
  • Develop resolution for identified variations and ensure implementation of necessary preventative measures.
  • Analyze, research and resolve error and call recycle file issues caused by guiding, rating and other jBilling issues.
  • Act as first step of escalation and resolution for jBilling issues identified by other functional areas.
  • Suggest improvements or enhancements to processing systems, including OSS and jBilling, in order to increase billing accuracy, improve customer satisfaction and enhance productivity.
  • Provide support to external/internal customers and across client entities, including training of other co-workers.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working with jBilling software, including configuring product catalog and rate tables as well as executing billing jobs.
  • Proficiency with the jBilling mediation and rating modules.
  • Extensive knowledge of Drools and proper utilization of syntax and expressions.
  • Knowledge of any telecom billing systems is desired.
  • Strong SQL skills, including ability to write complex queries by joining multiple tables
  • Four year degree and 2 years billing experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have knowledge of telecommunications and VoIP
