Sr. Campus Network Engineer/ManagerLocation: coppell, TX Description:
  • Provides comprehensive network consultation and support to business units and IT management staffs at the highest technical level on all phases of the project management cycle. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions to recommend the most efficient and cost effective network solution. Performs analysis, system design, documentation, implementation and on-going support for Campus Network infrastructure. This includes device installations, connectivity, administrations, customizations and network management. Provides technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new network technologies, which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic and business objectives. Serves as the technical expert for LAN/WAN and Multimedia systems. Coordinate projects with the server group and Information Center staff in all phases of the development and implementation process. Maintains and builds relationships with vendors and other Corporate telecommunications professionals. Works closely with the Corporate Information Security group regarding network security issues.Principal Responsibilities* Responsible for supporting the Campus Network infrastructure which includes LAN, WAN & MPLS.* Responsible for the physical connectivity for servers, Desktops and Network devices.* Responsible for the Design of future internal networks.* Provide documentation for Campus LAN connectivity.* Provide Disaster recovery services for Campus Network and other BCP initiatives.* Interface with vendors and perform product evaluations.* Provide periodic and on-demand capacity reports of Campus LAN, Multimedia devices and links.* Participates with vendors and common carriers during problems, analysis and solution.* Keeps abreast of new technological development, conducts evaluations of vendor products or proposals in technology in regards to hardware, software, protocols, switching methods and access methods.* Coordinate Network Security issues with Corporate Information Security* Supports the Campus Network infrastructure, including all data centers and all remote offices.* Plans and support disaster recovery exercises for Campus Network Infrastructure.* Research and develop new technology solutions for business units.* Supports physical connectivity for servers, Desktops and Network devices.* Support convergence solutions for Multimedia Traffic, VoIP and Video Conferencing.* Design and implement advanced global routing policies and architecture.* Collaborate with other Network and IT/ Systems groups on cross-functional initiatives.ExperienceFour to Six years experience in all phases of LAN and network management.Knowledge/Skills
  • * In Depth knowledge of Network Technology - Cisco systems* Extensive knowledge of network protocols and routing.* Knowledge of network management and capacity issues.* Knowledge of change control infrastructure.* Knowledge of Voice Over IP system on Campus LAN.* Knowledge of Video system integration to LAN* Minimum Three years of Cisco experience.Education, Training or Certification
