Description
SMARTSOURCE is currently searching for a Senior Citrix Engineer / Architect

Desired Start Date: Nov 1, 2007

Job Location Zip Code: Los Alamos, NM

Job Description: Engineer and Implement citrix system for 150 concurrent users. Users are both windows and Unix based.

The key focus will be making sure that Unix apps/ users integrate properly with the Windows side.

Following are the details of the engagement:

150 concurrent users (ccu) in the pilot group with potential to expand to between
500 =E2=80=93 1000 ccu.

Approximately 1/3 of the user community use Macintosh workstations, 1/3 use
Linux/Solaris workstations and 1/3 use Windows. These numbers are shifting and it is
expected that the dominant split will be between RHEL 4 and Solaris 10 with 1/6 of users
running Macintosh and 1/6 running Windows workstations.

Servers will be SUN x4200 running Windows 2003 with 16 =E2=80=93 32 GB of RAM.

Applications: the primary driver for this deployment is access to Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer. However limited use of MATLAB and
INSITE are expected. MATLAB and INSITE are both 3D applications that will be
accessed for image manipulation and viewing purposes.

A typical use case would include a user working in their local Eudora email system and
selecting an attachment for viewing that would need to open in a Citrix deployed
Microsoft Word environment. Access to these Microsoft based applications needs to be
seamless to the users.

Kerberos authentication is the standard employed at the LANL. Therefore, anonymous
access is under consideration for the Citrix environment. Mapped drives would be
required.

All users can access all the printers in LANL environment. There are currently 250
printers with a goal to reduce this number to 20 =E2=80=93 30 printers in the near term.
