Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other related field or equivalent experience.
Ten (10) years of general experience in communications/telecommunications activities.

Specialized Experience: Five (5) years of specialized experience in the design, installation, and operation of state-of-the-art communications systems, encompassing the duties specified below.

Major Duties:

Major duties will include, but not be limited to: providing technical direction for telecommunications activities including planning, designing, installing, and maintaining large telecommunications networks; developing, operating, and maintaining voice, video, and data communications systems; applying telecommunications engineering principles and theory to propose design and configuration alternatives; evaluating existing communications systems to identify deficiencies and network performance improvements; consulting with user personnel to ensure that problems have been properly identified and that the solution will meet the requirements; analyzing network performance, usage and traffic flows, accesses and interfaces, transmission techniques, and protocols; performing network analyses and feasibility studies concerning communications and communication networks; preparing studies and giving presentations on communications concepts and provides technical guidance to other personnel concerning data communications requirements; preparing or participating in preparing functional specifications for acquiring commercially available data communications networks.df-tc
