Description
Duties: Perform Level 2 fault isolation and repair in support of Networking infrastructure in a Windows NT/2000 environment with over 1400 end-users. Troubleshoot hardware and software failures, identify defective parts, create and maintain user accounts, perform software installations and upgrades, install and configure network adapters, and provide network connectivity. Apply diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and provide solutions to correct complex failures. Resolve user problems and questions pertaining to the LAN and its applications. Successfully manage trouble tickets in the following areas: personal computers, computer peripherals, network management, and software applications. Provide assistance via telephone, email, and on-site. Escalate complex problems that cannot be resolved to higher-level for resolution. Log and track all actions through resolution using the Remedy trouble ticket system.



Required Experience: Two years of direct experience required. Must be familiar with LAN security for LAN/WAN applications. Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Windows 2000 and NT. This position requires an individual who can work well with others and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations. Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.



Required Education: BS or BA in a technical field desired, or equivalent experience. Microsoft certification (A+/MCP/MSCE) preferred.



Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance.df-tc
