Description
  • Responsible for the database supporting processing systems, including databases in non-production environments used to develop and verify new applications.
  • Designs, tests, implements, maintains, and controls the organizations databases across multiple platforms, technologies, and computing environments.
  • Works closely with client and technical management, and with related support groups (e.g. Data Resource Management, Systems Software Support, Communications Software, Computer Operations), to design and implement databases and database support tools and procedures in support of complex business application development requirements and processes.
  • Monitors transaction activities and assists developers and business clients in the utilization of databases.
  • Evaluates, recommends, installs, configures, and maintains database management software and supporting tools.
  • Responsible for the integrity and security of data in these databases.
    Incumbent may work within a single specialty discipline, such as Data Administration, Database Development, or Database Systems Administration.

    Experience/Skills
  • 5 + years experience in data administration and/or database administration is required.
  • Requires general knowledge and hands-on experience in all database disciplines, including logical and physical database design, database implementation, access optimization, security, storage management, system and application performance management, and database systems administration.
  • Requires in-depth, hands-on expertise in Distributed Database technologies.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience required
