3H Technology is a growing innovative IT solutions company with offices in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. 3H Technology has an immediate opportunity in our DC office for a Senior Data Modeler.

Job Requirements:

Must be a US citizen in order to apply for this position. Security eligibility is a must with existing clearance a plus but all non-cleared and interim cleared candidates will undergo a DHS-specific NAC (National Agency Check).

BA or BS or equivalent years of experience is needed. -Deep understanding of data modeling and modeling concepts, such as the proper roles of conceptual, logical and physical data models., -A strong understanding and competence with CASE tools (e.g., Oracle Designer, ERWIN), -Experience with of data modeling concepts, such as entities, domains, attributes, primary keys, relationships, foreign keys, dimensions, facts, tables, columns, data types, views, constraints and indexing., -Experience with relational database concepts such as relations, attributes, candidate keys and normalization., -Experience with dimensional database concepts such as factless fact tables and conforming dimensions., -Ability to work with application programmers, business user personnel and project managers to gather requirements and to analyze those requirements to find opportunities for data integration, -Knowledge of data architecture concepts such as data cubes and OLAP multi-dimensional systems, data marts, data mining systems, operational data stores, data warehouses, staging databases and data servicing layers

Desired Skills:
Experience with Oracle, IDMS and AIX operating system.

Job Description:
The Data Modeler for the Enterprise Data Warehouse will be part of a team to identify requirements, design, develop, test, and implement multiple iterations of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Data Warehouse environment. The Data Modeler will:, -Work with business requirements analysts and subject matter experts to identify and understand requirements leading requirements definition sessions as needed., -Develop logical and physical data models including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and highly normalized data models., -Understand the nature of the data in various source systems and map source system data to a single consolidated data warehouse model (source to target mappings). Map data from a consolidated data warehouse to datamarts, cubes, and other analytical logical or physical data stores., -Develop process for capturing and maintaining metadata from all data warehousing components., -Assist database developers and administrator with the translation of logical models into workable physical models. Participate in or lead data quality and data standardization initiatives. Assist Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) developers and report, query, and analytical tool developers in understanding data and meeting user requirements., -Be responsible for or be a contributor to documentation artifacts including functional requirements documents, design documents and data management plans.
