Description:

This position will act as a technical member of
the Database Engineering team, with
primary responsibilities and focus on the
database products listed below.

The Database Engineer's duties will include functioning as a subject matter expect for these
technologies within the Engineering team,
producing product builds and contributing to
patterns development, assist Product Management
by advising on technical issues related to
database products, and providing support to
Service Delivery and AD teams for related
products.

Experience/Skills
Qualifications:

Primary, in-depth expertise with at least one of the following products:
o Oracle 9i and 10g and related products
o Sybase ASE (12.5.x and above) and related
products

Secondary expertise with Oracle or Sybase ASE,
or one of the following products is desirable:
o IBM UDB (8 and above)
o MS SQL Server (2000/2005)

Knowledge of most of the following supporting
technologies
o Solaris (>= 8), AIX (>= 5.1), Linux and Windows
(>= 2000 and XP) operating systems
o Clustering technology (eg: Veritas Cluster
Server 4, HACMP)
o Security technologies and products (eg: KeON,
eTrust AC)
o Monitoring tools and technologies (eg: Tivoli,
SNMP)
o UNIX Scripting (eg: ksh, awk, sed, grep, perl,
..)

Experience in a large enterprise support
environment utilizing industry best practices and
mature processes.
Strong troubleshooting and initiative
management skills.
Strong customer service focus.
Goal (rather than process) driven.
Financial Services industry experience preferred
