Sr. Database Systems Administrator2 Oracle DBA positions, also need a Jr. person with around 2 years exp. APPLICANTS MUST HAVE FLAWLESS COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Role Definition:Under minimal supervision, install, maintain, upgrade, support, test, document, and takes accountability for availability and performance of enterprise database management systems.Dimension: 1.Responsible for recommending cost-justified expenditures to meet database infrastructure needs.2.No direct reports; however, acts as a role model and leader.3.No direct budget responsibility.Organizational Relationships:1.Interface with other Systems Administrators to ensure adequate availability, security, performance, and availability of database based and other systems2.Interface with employees at all levels to effectively support database infrastructure requirements.3.Interface with all Information Technology personnel to ensure compatibility with operating systems, applications, and other related infrastructure. Act as expert and technical leader in the database field.4.Interface with Computer Support team members to provide second level support to internal customers.5.Interface with vendors to address problems, identify future requirements, ensure proper software licensing, and to anticipate future vendor technology offerings.Principal Accountabilities: 1.Rely on general instructions and guidelines to plan and accomplish generally defined goals. Act as technical leader for database activities.2.Working within management guidelines, set best practices for database infrastructure to support the business requirements of internal customers.3.Lead Information Technology projects, including those extending outside of area of responsibility.4.Install, tune, provide technical support, and troubleshoot database-based business applications. Work with software vendors to resolve problems, an appropriate.5.Analyze and evaluate reported problems and take responsibility for implementing satisfactory solutions to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.6.Ensure recoverability of database systems and provide recovery as needed.7.Analyze customer business requirements.8.Install, upgrade, configure, ensure proper licensing, and support database management software.9.Tune database systems for optimal performance and reliability.10.Design and document agreed upon security policies. Maintain proper security controls and levels on databases, based on this policy.11.Coach and train other employees on proper access and use of database systems.12.Model database performance and forecast when additional capacity is required to maintain acceptable levels of performance.13.Design, develop, and modify logical and physical data models as required to support Systems Analyst and Developer requirements.14.Build, load, and support test systems.15.Document systems and procedures.16.Discover new opportunities to advance the company through use of database systems.17.Provide customer support for database application and infrastructure.18.Occasionally work schedules that are outside normal business hours to support department and business operational needs and goals.19.Be on-call to support business critical applications.Position Qualifications:(A) Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent Desired Education BS in Computer Science(B) Required Work Experience 1.Greater than 3 years of professional experience supporting Oracle relational databases in a client/server environment. Experience must be within the last year and include database installation and tuning, SQL development and tuning, backup and recovery, and database troubleshooting.2.Greater than 3 years of professional experience supporting Microsoft relational databases in a client/server environment, desired. 3.Prior experience leading projects or workgroups, desired.4.Prior professional experience administering servers and operating systems, desired.5.Prior professional experience with developing database applications with C, C++, SQL, Java, or a 4GL development tool, desired.
