Description
The initial project duration would be 6 months with strong possiblities of turning into a multi-year contract. Ideally, the person should possess good experience with Datastage on AS400 RPG environment. Experience with working on onsite-offshore projects would be a huge plus.

Database and Applications Developer

Role Summary

Responsible for developing extraction, transformation and loading(ETL) modules that populate datamart/data warehouse.

Implementation specialist on data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.

Core Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise in analyzing business needs and objectives as it relates to the deployment of the overall solution

Conduct data source analysis sessions and analyze data

Provide database technical requirements analysis, design, and development services

Develop the database and stored procedures

Develop the extract, transformation, and load (ETL) routines (initial load and on-going feeds) and processes

Understand logical and physical data modeling related data warehouses

Perform all necessary quality assurance and testing

Experience and Skill Set

Very strong working knowledge and 3+ years of hands-on experience of designing and developing data warehouses using ETL tools such as Ascential Datastage.

Familiarity with other ETL tools such as Informatica, AbInitio etc. is a plus

Good understanding of data warehouse design and data modeling techniques, including logical modeling

Outstanding data analysis skills required

BE or advanced degree in CS or other relevant discipline.



Experience/Skills
Ideally 7+ years of total IT experience with 5 years of specific experience with Datastage tool.
