In Scope:
- Participate in Incident and Problem Management activities.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.
- Perform daily provisioning configuration changes.
- Allocate storage to specific servers/applications.
- If necessary, assist with the installation and/or configuration of host bus adapters (HBA) and their associated drivers.
- Assist staff with migration of hosts to V-Max.
- Perform additional knowledge transfer for TimeFinder Clone software.
- Perform additional knowledge transfer for Symmetrix Performance Analyzer software.
- Perform additional knowledge transfer for Advanced Tiered Storage Management Package software. - Perform additional knowledge transfer for EMC ControlCenter 6.1 software.
- Participate in the planning, approval, and implementation of approved Change Management requests.
- Generate regular operational reports using licensed EMC and/or supplied tools.
- Participate in storage capacity measurement and planning.
- Assist with detailed technical planning for future initiatives.
- Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization.
- Assist with operational documentation.
Out of Scope:
- Installation of boot files or provisioning for boot volumes on the Symmetrix.
- Any application or host system access that encompasses coding, scripting, application analysis, system performance, troubleshooting, or application logins outside of the tasks described in this SOW.
- Overseeing the installation and/or configuration of server cluster software.
- Installation of operating-system software.
- Installation and configuration of non-EMC hardware and software not specifically identified as "in scope".
- Projects or equipment installation resulting from the sale of new EMC hardware and software.
- Operating system, database, or application tuning not directly related to EMC tasks.
- CPU, server, or mid-range host monitoring and console operations.
- Implementation of required communications infrastructure and components.
- Network (LAN or WAN) support of day to day operations.
- Resolution of network connectivity issues.
- Installation, certification or configuration, and support of electrical, network, telecommunications, cabling infrastructure and components.
- Designing application architecture.
