Description
Our client is privately held and the pioneer in manufacturing Video Eyewear and personal display devices for the mobile video, entertainment, defense and commercial markets.

The company's experience in developing advanced proprietary display technology for the military and industrial sectors has laid the foundation for its leadership position in the emerging consumer Video Eyewear market.

Electrical and electronic design of small display products within schedule and technical compliance.

Apply in depth knowledge of several technical specialties in order to effectively and efficiently design, analyze, test, and document systems.

Develop circuit cards and/or systems for various programs. Projects will include designs for deliverable product as well as in house testing equipment

Duties and Responsibilities
Conceptualize the architecture of high technology products within a concurrent engineering environment

Validate system performance in order to prove the technical design through analysis, simulation, and laboratory testing

Generate complete system documentation and provides input to technical proposals in order to effectively communicate the design and/or approach to internal and external customers

Ensure proper procedures and methods are used by other members of the design team by providing a value added quality review

Analyze product and military specifications to ensure product compliance.

Independently develop and implement corrective action to product and procedural problems

Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship for less experienced design engineers in order to increase our design expertise base within the company with an emphasis on performance, design optimization, re-use, and intellectual "tribal knowledge"

Communicate with the customer and internal management as the technical expert on projects in order to effectively interface with all facets of decision making personnel and customer management Provide budget, schedule, and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively record progress of technical aspects of the program assigned

Circuit card design, including requirements definition, component selection, schematic capture, Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layout, verification testing, and documentation

Ensure successful transition of products/projects to full scale production Troubleshooting and failure analysis of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)

Work with program managers to meet milestones

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 10+ years of detailed circuit and assembly design

Experience developing circuit designs for small power supplies, interface logic, video, and audio circuitry preferred

8/16 bit embedded microprocessor software design in assembler and C++ preferred

Proven design skills in product development environment

Experience in board level designs that include FPGA and CPLD technologies.

Experience with FPGA design software such as Altera Quartus or Xilinx Foundation.

Knowledge of computer programming languages such as VHDL, Verilog, C++, and schematic capture tools

Familiarity with PCB layout in PADS preferred Strong inter-personal and communication skills

Familiarity with military specifications and military design experience

Ability and willingness to travel, including air, if required
