Parsons is currently seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer in Boston, MA.


SUMMARY
Responsible for all aspects of electrical engineering and design of industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology projects. Position requires thorough knowledge of electrical engineering and design practice including budgeting, scheduling, planning, working drawings, specifications, codes, building materials and costs, and construction techniques.

Experience/Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Directs, guides, and coordinates electrical engineering and design personnel.
Coordinates project engineering budget and schedule with Department Manager and Project Manager. Controls work progress and engineering budgets. Prepares progress reports.
Develops engineering and construction cost estimates.
Directs preparation of, or prepares all engineering and design documentation for electrical systems consisting of one-line diagrams, lighting, power, electrical area classification, grounding, emergency power, motor controls, electrical heat tracing, lightning protection, cable tray, fire alarm, public address, security, card access, etc.
Confers and corresponds with client and local and government authorities to assure coordination and compliance with company standards, codes, utility company requirements, and client criteria.
Inspects installations for conformance with engineering documents, equipment specifications, and safety standards.
Participates in developing and maintaining Electrical department standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assigns and coordinates work for the electrical project team on specific projects in conjunction with other project leaders under the Department Manager.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S., Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering of electrical power systems for industrial facilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Professional Engineer registration is not required, but highly desirable.
