Position Title: Sr Engineer Database Administration (Oracle DBA)

- Installs, configures and administer Oracle databases.
- Conduct product performance and load test of Oracle databases.
- Participates in product regression tests on new Oracle versions.
- Leads and performs complex technical analysis and database design.
- Monitor customer installations for integrity, performance and availability.
- Analyze and correct performance and availability issues.
- Perform database tuning services.
- Provide technical reports and recommendations related to database performance and availability
- Provides database support/troubleshoot a variety of problems.
- Performs data and/or database research and design.
- Works with external vendors as necessary.
- Writes clear and concise technical documents.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.

Education/Experience

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, or equivalent, and eight years of related experience and/or training, or combination of education and experience
- Expertise in the design and development of complex applications
- Experience with and working knowledge of software development lifecycle phases
- Extensive experience in the design, installation, administration, management and analysis and tuning of Oracle relational databases
- Experience with other Oracle and third party database products and tools
- Ability to follow directions from a technical manager
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently.
- Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of government systems; experience with Java/J2EE web based development, working experience with Oracle RDBMS; experience in administration and management of complex systems and Oracle; Professional certification(s).
