Performs one or more of the following duties:


Functional Description:

We are seeking a talented Sr. Hardware Engineer. Based on specific stated objectives this position will perform analysis, design, or test of one or more complex materials, structural components or functional systems of company products. Without detailed direction, you will study basic design concepts and criteria for assigned complex materials, components, or functional systems to ascertain the engineering principles involved and to adopt features from previously successful designs of a similar nature. With general direction, plan, prepare, and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional systems. Study the operation of systems, select major components to meet functional and operational requirements, and determine the optimum location and arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing, and service standpoint. Direct the more detailed analysis and design and follow up to assure compliance with original philosophy and good engineering practices. Develop general test program to evaluate new materials of products.



Education and Typical Years Experience

BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience) and four years of experience in board-level Analog and Digital circuit design.


Special Requirements

Candidate must possess the following skills:

- ability to independently design, debug, and test Digital and Analog circuits
- knowledge of PCB layout and routing requirements
- ability to plan, perform and document detailed circuit- and system-level testing
- capable of transforming system-level requirements into detailed design requirements
- excellent oral and written communication skills.

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- knowledge of Intelligent Transport Systems
- experience as technical lead for Hardware efforts
- knowledge of ISO 9001 and Continuous Improvement concepts.
