Description
TWI is currently seeking a senior-level GPS software engineer, on behalf of one of our clients. We are looking for candidates with at least 10 years experience in advanced GPS signal processing techniques and receiver design using C language who will write real-time, embedded C-language baseband firmware for high-precision consumer GPS receivers. .


Position-Specific Duties:

Utilizing a broad and deep knowledge of digital signal processing, GPS (Global Positioning Systems) signal structure and embedded firmware, this position will lead software development teams in the design and implementation of highly complex GPS baseband processing systems.

Provide the requirements flow down of advanced, state-of-the art GPS signal processing techniques from senior systems engineering to the software teams tasked with implementing them.

Provide technical leadership and direction to the baseband firmware teams to guide them through the complete embedded firmware life cycle.

Work with senior technical management and the appropriate Deere Communities of Practice to ensure alignment with the Client Specific Embedded Software Development Process (ESDP).

Interface with program management and product management personnel to ensure compliance with cost, schedule, and marketing requirements.

Utilizing a high degree of knowledge of embedded firmware techniques and microprocessor architectures, provide innovative solutions to the problems associated with the implementation of complex, high speed, signal processing implementations within constrained embedded computing environments.

Keeps up to date in GPS industry practices by attending the Institute of Navigation (ION) annual conference and regional and national technical meetings.

Participates in and represents the company at the ION by presenting academic and/or industry papers on GPS techniques on a regular basis.


Position-Specific Qualifications:

Must have at least 10 years experience in advanced GPS signal processing techniques and receiver design using C language.

Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Geomatics, Physics, or Mathematics; Master of Science degree preferred.
